A local would say...

Stand at the top of the 1972 Olympic ski jump and stare down a 33-degree drop that makes your knees wobble even on solid ground.

Built for the 1972 Winter Olympics, this 133.6-metre ski jump slope offers one of Sapporo's most vertigo-inducing experiences. You'll ride a rickety old chairlift to the top and stare down the 33-degree incline, imagining what it would feel like to launch yourself off the edge. The Winter Sports Museum below has a hilarious computerised simulator that lets you try (virtually), plus exhibits on Olympic history. On a clear day, the panoramic views over Sapporo from the jump tower are among the best in the city.
