A beautifully preserved stone-paved lane descending from Kiyomizu-dera through one of Kyoto's finest historic streetscapes. Lined with traditional shops, teahouses and machiya townhouses, it connects to the quieter Ninen-zaka below. Walking it feels like stepping directly into the Edo period.
