Where St Paul preached to the Athenians — a thousand-year-old church hidden inside an ancient marketplace.
A charming 10th-century Byzantine church standing near the southern entrance of the Ancient Agora, built to commemorate St Paul's teaching in the very same space. Stripped of 19th-century additions and restored to its original form between 1954 and 1957, it contains fine Byzantine frescoes and offers a quiet sanctuary in the middle of a major archaeological site.
