A local would say...
A 2,000-year-old weather station and clock tower, still standing in perfect condition in the middle of modern Athens.
A 1st-century BC octagonal marble tower built by Syrian astronomer Andronicus — functioning simultaneously as a sundial, weather vane, water clock and compass. Each of its eight sides depicts a relief of the wind associated with that compass point, and faint sundial markings are still visible in the stone. One of Athens' most underrated ancient monuments.
