Built in 334 BC to commemorate a victory in a choral festival, this elegant monument stands in what was once the Street of Tripods — where winners of ancient dramatic contests dedicated their trophy tripods to Dionysos. It is the earliest known monument using Corinthian capitals on its exterior, and the reliefs depict Dionysos transforming pirates into dolphins.
