A local would say...
Order a coffee and read about the boulevard outside from posters that were displayed when Stalin still had a moustache and a statue around the corner.
One of the most popular cafés in East Berlin before the Wall fell, now run by a nonprofit and operating as both a coffee bar and a growing exhibit on the history of Karl-Marx-Allee. The interior has sober early-1960s charm, with portraits of the boulevard's architects and period artefacts including a piece of Stalin's moustache from a nearby statue torn down in 1961.
