Castle of Monolithos

A spectacularly sited 15th-century castle perched on a sheer 240m-high rock, reached via a dirt track from the village of Monolithos. To enter the ruins, visitors climb through a hole in the wall. The views from the top across the Aegean are extraordinary. A tiny church of Agios Panteleimonas stands preserved within the walls.
