Getting down to it means a steep flight of steps from the road, and what waits at the bottom is small — a narrow strip that fills up fast. The pebbles are fine, the water is clear, and it turns cold in patches as you swim. The bottom drops away almost immediately, which is why the divers and the jumpers claim it, and why it is a poor call with small children.
