This tiny corner bakery on Bahariye has been quietly turning out some of Kadıköy's best pastries since 1958. You'll walk past it if you're not looking — just a small shopfront packed floor to ceiling with fresh hamurişi. The ballı is what everyone comes for, a sticky honey-soaked pastry that's impossibly good, but don't skip the açma or the peynirli börek either. There are no seats inside — you grab your bag and go, or better yet, slip into the little tea garden next door and have your börek with a proper çay. If you're lucky, the elderly owner will be behind the counter. Try an ekler too, you'll thank us later.
