Don't judge this mosque by its modest exterior — step inside and your jaw drops. The İznik tiles here are among the most beautiful in any Istanbul mosque, a riot of turquoise, cobalt, and coral red that covers every surface. Built in 1640 for the mother of Sultan Murat IV, it's a 10-minute walk from the Üsküdar ferry terminal and utterly worth the detour to the Asian side.
