A Gothic silk exchange with twisted stone columns — UNESCO World Heritage Site across from the market
This splendid late-Gothic building, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was originally Valencia's silk and commodity exchange. The magnificent Salón Columnario (Column Hall) with its soaring twisted columns and star-vaulted ceiling is one of Spain's finest civil Gothic buildings. Built between 1482 and 1548, it's across the street from the Central Market.
