Toledo's last surviving mosque from when the city had ten — built in 999 AD

On the northern slopes of town you'll find a modest, yet beautiful mosque — the only one of ten that used to stand in Toledo where architectural traces are still in evidence. Built around AD 1000, it suffered the usual fate of being converted into a church, but most of the original vaulting and arches survived. A small gem of Islamic Spain.
