A vast 18th-century baroque fortress on a cliff above the Danube opposite Novi Sad — the largest Habsburg fortress in the region — now housing artist studios in its former stables, a City Museum, a planetarium, and the site of the Exit music festival. The famous clock tower has its hour and minute hands reversed to be readable from the river below. Walking the fortress walls gives sweeping views of the Danube and the city on the opposite bank.
