The Night Watch hangs at the end of a Gallery of Honour — you walk through 800 years of Dutch art to reach it
The Netherlands' national museum — Rembrandt's Night Watch hangs at the end of a purpose-built Gallery of Honour, and you'll walk through rooms of Vermeer, Frans Hals, and Delft pottery to reach it. The building itself (1885, Pierre Cuypers) is a cathedral to Dutch art. The library is one of the most beautiful rooms in Europe. Reopened in 2013 after a decade of renovation.
