The labyrinthine sandstone canyon of the Siq leads to the iconic rose-red Treasury facade, the most recognisable monument of the Nabataean city of Petra. Rose-red cliffs tower on both sides as the narrow gorge winds for 1.2km before the dramatic reveal. The best light on the Treasury falls around 9am before tour groups arrive.
