This narrow pedestrian lane is ground zero for Japanese teen culture, a candy-colored tunnel of crepe shops, kawaii accessories, and the last vestiges of every fashion subculture from Gothic Lolita to decora. On weekends the crowd is so dense you'll be carried along by the current, past bubblegum-pink storefronts and vendors hawking rainbow cotton candy the size of your head. It's overwhelming, garish, and irresistible. Come on a weekday morning if you actually want to browse the shops rather than surf the human tide.
