In the heart of Kyoto, Here Coffee was founded by Junichi Yamaguchi — world latte art champion — and the craft shows in every pour. The coffee is good, but you should really come for the elderflower cordial (light, faintly floral, almost cooling) and the canelé, caramelised dark on the outside and tender in the middle. It is the kind of small, focused menu where every item is there for a reason. Sit by the window and watch old Kyoto walk past.
