A local would say...

The most peaceful ancient site in Athens — lush, quiet, and completely overlooked by tourists heading for the Acropolis.

Athens' main cemetery from the 12th century BC to Roman times — and one of the most green and tranquil of the city's ancient sites. Discovered in 1861 during road construction, it preserves the Sacred Way and Dipylon Gate, from which Pericles famously gave his speech honouring the war dead.
