A local would say...
Walk the line where the world's most infamous wall once stood — and feel the disbelief that it was ever real.
A 160-kilometre trail following the former path of the Berlin Wall through reunified Berlin, passing the Brandenburg Gate, the East Side Gallery with its painted murals, the Documentation Centre at Bernauer Strasse and dozens of memorial markers. Walking or cycling the full circuit reveals how completely the city has healed across what was once the world's most militarised border. The East Side Gallery's 1.3-kilometre stretch of original painted Wall sections is the emotional centrepiece.
