One of the largest and best-preserved Roman amphitheatres in the world, built in the 1st century AD with capacity for 20,000 spectators and still used today for concerts and film festivals. Unlike the Colosseum, Pula's arena is remarkably intact from the outside — its full elliptical exterior of Istrian limestone stands almost to its original height. Walking around its perimeter at dusk, with the ancient stone glowing warm gold, is genuinely breathtaking.
