One of the finest small museums in Turkey, with a stunning collection that punches well above its weight. The star pieces are from the Pergamum excavations — intricate friezes, marble statuary, and a model of the ancient city that helps you piece together what you're about to see on the hill. Don't rush through the courtyard either, it's lined with Ottoman-era tombstones and Roman columns arranged almost casually. A perfect first stop before heading up to the Acropolis.
