Refik is the original meyhane on Nevizade Sokak near İstiklal Caddesi — the meyhane in the Asmalımescit area where the action is, it's always full of large groups of liquored-up locals enjoying the convivial (and noisy) atmosphere and decent meyhane food. Two dining areas on each side of the street, streetside tables, and the excellent çacık (yogurt and mint salad) to start.
