This ornate 19th-century passage off İstiklal has been hosting raucous crowds of drinkers since the 1800s. Once the Cité de Pera — Istanbul's most fashionable address — it's now a lively row of meyhanes where tables spill into the arched passageway. The adjoining Balık Pazarı (Fish Market) is where you grab fried mussels, kokoreç, and pickles from street vendors who've been doing this for generations.
