Sinan's first major commission, built in memory of Süleyman's favourite son who died young. The architect himself later called it his 'apprentice work,' but the graceful proportions and soaring dome tell a different story. Less visited than the Süleymaniye a few blocks away, it rewards those who seek it out with a peaceful courtyard and an interior bathed in soft light.
