Two blocks south of Cumhuriyet Meydanı, the splendid 19th-century Latifoğlu Konağı is a fine example of baroque architecture in the Ottoman style. The rooms have been restored to their former finery with elaborately carved wood ceilings and intricately embellished plasterwork detail.
