One of the most beautiful Gothic cathedrals in Spain, León's cathedral is celebrated above all for its extraordinary stained glass — over 1800 square metres of windows that transform the interior into a kaleidoscope of coloured light. Begun in the 13th century, its soaring nave and twin towers anchor the old city. The nearby Barrio Húmedo fills with students at night, creating a vivid contrast of medieval splendour and youthful energy.
