If you choose one place to go windmill-spotting in Castilla-La Mancha, make it Consuegra. Nine molinos de viento (windmills) flanking a 12th-century castle rise dramatically from a ridge above the town. They sit dramatically above the pancake-flat plains, and clearly visible from far away — the very giants Don Quijote tilted at. One contains the original machinery.
