This elegant weathered sandstone cathedral, begun in 1165, towers over the historic centre. Its splendid Gothic reliefs on the Puerta de las Cadenas, the elegant Pórtico del Perdón and inside the exquisite carved oak choir stalls make it Ciudad Rodrigo's highlight. You can climb the tower on Saturday and Sunday for fine views.
