Ljubljana Castle

The medieval castle perched dramatically on a wooded hill directly above Ljubljana's old town, accessible by funicular or a series of cobblestone paths through the forest. A complete circuit of the castle walls gives 360-degree views over the city's orange rooftops, the Julian Alps and the Ljubljana marshes. The chapel, watchtower and prison museum add depth beyond the views.
