Union Square

Timișoara's most picturesque square — the baroque Roman Catholic Cathedral and Serbian Orthodox Church face each other across a space surrounded by Habsburg-era facades. The Trinity Column (1740) commemorates surviving the plague. This is where the 1989 revolution that toppled Ceaușescu began.
