The cave where a hermit lived who advised Romania's greatest warrior-king — and whose counsel turned the tide against the Ottomans.
A cave hermitage just 2km from Putna Monastery where the 15th-century hermit and seer Daniel Dimitru lived, containing a wooden table and memorial plaque. Daniel was the ascetic monk who encouraged Ștefan cel Mare to fight the Turks and later became the first abbot of Sucevița Monastery. The cave is reachable on a short forest walk from Putna.
