A UNESCO World Heritage national park of ice-carved mountain drama, where 18 glacial lakes dot the Durmitor range and the 1.3km-deep Tara Canyon — the deepest in Europe — slashes through the karst plateau. Crno Jezero (Black Lake) is a pleasant 3km walk from the town of Žabljak, dominated by the rounded mass of Međed rising behind the water. The park also offers skiing, rafting, and some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in the Balkans.
