Housed in what used to be a public bathhouse in Omotesando, Maisen serves tonkatsu so good that even the cheapest grade of pork melts in your mouth. The setting is wonderfully quirky — high ceilings and tiled walls from the bathhouse era remain, giving character to every bite of breaded, deep-fried pork cutlet. Try the prized kurobuta (black pig) if you're feeling luxurious, or grab a tonkatsu sando from the takeaway window for one of Tokyo's best sandwiches on the go.
