Two dozen relocated gasshō-zukuri farmhouses stand together in this open-air museum on the edge of Ogimachi. While the arrangement feels a touch curated, it gives you a chance to walk through a variety of these extraordinary thatched structures and watch demonstrations of regional crafts like woodwork, straw handicrafts, and ceramics. It's a good complement to the real village next door, and the park-like grounds make for pleasant wandering.
