Rising from the eastern end of Odori Park, this 147-metre broadcasting tower has been Sapporo's most recognizable landmark since 1957. The observation deck at 90 metres delivers a clean westward view down the full length of Odori Park, with the mountains beyond — especially lovely when the park is blanketed in snow festival sculptures or lit up at night. It's not the most architecturally thrilling tower you'll ever visit, but its position makes the view genuinely useful for orienting yourself in the city.
