One block back from the waterfront, this lively pedestrian street is the place to graze on Miyajima's local specialties. Vendors grill fresh oysters from the island's beds, press momiji-manju (maple leaf-shaped cakes) in front of you, and sell every imaginable souvenir. The smell of charcoal-grilled seafood and sweet red bean fills the air. It's touristy but delicious, and the perfect warm-up before or cool-down after tackling Mount Misen.
