A monastery-turned-castle-turned-arts-festival-venue — Naxos compressed its whole identity into one building.

A handsome tower-like structure built in its original 17th-century form as the Monastery of Timios Stavros (True Cross), later bought by the Bazeos family and refurbished. Now a cultural centre staging art exhibitions and the annual Naxos Festival in July and August with concerts, plays and literary readings. Located prominently 2km east of Sangri village.
