The gorge that 99% of Crete visitors miss — just as dramatic as Samaria, without the crowds.

An 8km gorge in the rugged Sfakia region, far less visited than the famous Samaria Gorge but arguably more rewarding for its solitude. The gorge path begins at the village of Imbros and ends at Komitades, from where you can walk or taxi to Hora Sfakion. The narrowing canyon walls and rough terrain give it a genuinely wild character that the over-trodden Samaria has largely lost.
