Germany has its own leaning tower — and Bautzen's doesn't even need Italy's fame to hold its own.

A 53m-high medieval tower on the eastern edge of Bautzen's Altstadt, famous for leaning 1.4m from centre — one of the steepest leaning towers north of the Alps. The addition of a baroque cupola in 1718 caused the tilt. Visitors can climb up for views over the town and surrounding Lusatia region.
