Spectacularly sited on a promontory overlooking a bend in the Nile, this unique dual temple is dedicated to both the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon-headed Haroeris. Each half of the perfectly symmetrical temple is a mirror image of the other, and in ancient times sacred crocodiles basked on the riverbank below.
