Smetana and Dvořák are buried side by side here — the artists' pantheon the crowds forget to visit.

An ancient hilltop fortress on a cliff above the Vltava River offering a panoramic escape from Prague's tourist crowds, founded in the 11th century and rebuilt in neo-Gothic style in the 19th century. The Slavín Cemetery beside the Church of SS Peter and Paul contains the graves of Smetana, Dvořák, and many other distinguished Czechs in elaborately decorated tombs. The fortress grounds offer some of the best views over the Vltava and southern Prague.
