A remarkable circular 9th-century Byzantine church built directly over the Roman forum, with slabs from the ancient forum still visible in the church floor and a Roman pillar remaining on its northwestern side. The church is no longer used for religious services but hosts atmospheric concerts of Renaissance and early baroque music in summer. Adjacent to it stands the 13th-century Romanesque Cathedral of St Anastasia and the Museum of Church Art with three floors of gold and silver reliquaries.
