The grand central boulevard of Minsk, rebuilt from scratch under Stalin's direction after WWII levelled the city, showcasing the full monumental ambition of Soviet urban design. Walking its length reveals an unbroken procession of neoclassical facades, government palaces, and ideological landmarks including the KGB headquarters and the old GUM department store. It is one of the most intact examples of Stalinist urban planning in Europe.
