Wörthersee

One of Austria's warmest lakes, averaging 21°C in summer due to underground thermal springs, with a 40-kilometre cycle path circumnavigating the shore and a string of elegant lakeside villages. Klagenfurt at its eastern end is a captivatingly Mediterranean-feeling city with more Renaissance than baroque buildings. The Europapark beach and a series of private lidos make summer bathing at Wörthersee a Viennese tradition.
