Tuzla Flea Market Istanbul: Weekend Treasure Hunting

Every weekend in Istanbul's Tuzla district, a flea market is set up along the D100 highway in the İçmeler neighborhood. It runs every Saturday and Sunday, from 6 AM to 5:30 PM.

Getting There

The market is located next to Tuzla State Hospital and a branch of İş Bankası. The nearest train station is İçmeler, within walking distance. Several bus lines also stop nearby, including 130, 133, and 500T.

What's for Sale?

The market has a wide range of second-hand goods: old vinyl records, vintage electronics, early mobile phones, game consoles, fishing reels, porcelain sets, antique furniture, and occasionally Ottoman manuscripts. Vendors often share the history of their items and where they found them.

Who Goes There?

The market is aimed at locals, collectors and tourists. Serious buyers tend to arrive early in the morning. Families start showing up around 9 AM. Some regular customers have built long-term relationships with specific vendors, who set aside special items for them. Prices tend to be more negotiable toward the end of the day.

General Atmosphere

It is a casual, no-frills market. The setting is a parking lot between a hospital and a bank, which keeps it practical rather than touristy. Vendors are generally happy to talk about their goods, and bargaining is expected.
