This building was used as a hospital until 1983. It was transformed into a museum by taking the name of Sofia, the queen of Spain.
There is Picasso’s work in the museum,“Guernica”, describes the bombing of Nazi Germany’s airplanes in 1937 during the Spanish Civil War. The museum also has a free library with hundreds of books on art and 3,500 audio recordings.
Entrance fee is 10 euros. On Sundays, the hours are from 13:30 to 19:00, and from 19:00 to 21:00 every day, the entrance is free of charge.
