This lighthouse, rising on cliffs formed by hard waves in the north of Spain, leads the mariners for 200 years and reminds to the people their stories. This lighthouse accompanying the Atlantic Ocean is also an important point of visit for tourists. The height and strong waves seen from down of cliff, starting from the lighthouse shore, should remind people of the smallness of life that many people have attempted suicide from this point in the past.
In order to prevent this, the regional administration has built a stone column with “Pausa” written on it as seen from the point. “Pausa” suggests that someone who has decided to commit suicide should stop and look at his/her life again, away from an order or judgment.

İspanya’nın kuzeyinde, sert dalgaların biçimlendirdiği kayalıkların üzerinde yükselen bu ışık 200 yıldır denizcilere yol gösteryor ve onların hikayelerini hatırlatıyor. Altas Okyanusu’na eşlik eden bu fener turistler için de önemli bir ziyaret noktasıdır. Fenerin kıyısından başlayan, uçurumdan aşağı bakınca görülen yükseklik ve güçlü dalgalar insanlara hayatın küçüklüğünü hatırlatıyor olmalı ki geçmişte pek çok kimse bu noktadan intihar girişiminde bulunmuş. Buna önlem almak isteyen bölge yönetimi aynı noktadan görülecek şekilde ve üzerine “Pausa” yazılı bir taş sütun inşa etmiştir. Bu yazı, kati bir emir ve bir yargıdan uzak bir biçimde, intihara karar vermiş kişinin duraklamasını ve hayatına yeniden göz atmasını önermektedir.
