Istanbul Toy Museum was founded in 2005 by Turkish writer Sunay Akın. Influenced by a museum he saw in Germany, the author buys toys from auctions around the world for 20 years. As time goes on, there are those who donate their toys. The museum collection includes the most famous toys in the history of the world, from the 1700s to the present. Fatos Dolls, Teddy Bear, Eyüp Toys, Black Teddy Bear (a few of the 1922 black teddy bears built for those who died on the Titanic cruise ship), Penny Toys, B29 Plane and Sadako Sasaki, Laterna Magica, Mickey Mouse, Steiff Teddy Bear, Felix Cat and baby houses are some of them.
If you want to rest after visiting the museum, you can sit in the cafeteria surrounded by toys. There are also activities for children in the museum every month.
